Veterans Day is an extremely meaningful holiday to the entire WIN Home Inspection franchise family. We are indebted to those who’ve served in all branches of the military, and we’re committed to their success in civilian life.

One way we honor veterans is by reaching out to them with incentives that make it easier for them to start a franchise. In 2012, WIN pledged a commitment of more than $1.2 million to their WIN for America program to assist veterans, vowing to secure 50 veteran candidates to work for their company. Less than two years later, the total number of WIN veteran franchise owners recruited through the WIN for America program stands at 23 and continues to grow. Overall, veterans make up more than 25% of WIN owners.

“Veterans are good people to grow with,” says Keith Mathias, Director of Strategic Market Development at the WIN Home Inspection franchise. “We understand the value of veterans and through our WIN for America program. We actively recruit and reward them.”

WIN goes above and beyond routine recruitment by offering Gold and Silver level awards, which provide 50% and 25% off of franchise fees, respectively. We also offer veterans additional assistance and mentoring, financing help, special training and more.

“When I was researching franchise systems, WIN was one of only two companies that offered a veteran incentive,” says Thomas Leonard, who owns a WIN Home Inspection franchise near Orlando, Florida. Thomas, who received a WIN for America service award in 2014, is a retired naval officer who served the country in three combat tours, including to the Horn of Africa and Iraq.

Incentives aside, WIN offers a business model that provides comprehensive training and support, setting up WIN owners for success immediately. “I made a complete career change, but with WIN’s support system in place, I immediately was given the resources — and the confidence — to do what I needed to do to succeed,” Thomas says.

Richard Haas, a retired Navy submariner whose WIN Home Inspection franchise recently opened in Arnold, Missouri, agrees.
