WIN Home Inspection Honors Veterans Year Long

On Veteran’s Day and beyond, WIN allows veterans to succeed beyond the call of duty

MADISON, AL (NOVEMBER 2013) –WIN Home Inspection awards veterans for service to our country, by way of their “WIN for America” program. Inspired by “Operation Enduring Opportunity” within the International Franchise Association (IFA), WIN joined the campaign to support the hiring and recruitment of 75,000 veterans and their spouses, along with 5,000 Wounded Warriors. By awarding qualified veterans the opportunity to waive part of their franchise fee, WIN for America was created to aid the veterans’ transition into the civilian business world, while capitalizing on their valuable military skills. In 2013, six veterans have been recipients of both Gold and Silver level awards, allowing for 50% or 10% of their franchise fee to be waived. There will be more veterans named as recipients before year-end as well.

2013 success stories include:

  • U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Retired General Shilo Harris chose WIN as “the gateway to a new beginning.” Wounded Warrior and motivational speaker, Harris looked to WIN as the “stepping-stone into a new life,” with latitude to grow. Aligned with WIN’s values and mission, Harris makes up a successful family team with his wife and son in San Antonio, TX.
  • Brian Haley of the Army National Guard served two tours and continues to serve while being one of WIN’s most recent Strategic Partners. “I had been looking around to start my own inspection business and when I came across WIN, I found that they were doing everything right,” says Haley. “Their WIN for America program made it an even easier choice and I’m honored to be a part of the WIN team.”
  • Sergeant SGT Michael Ryan Palmer joined his parents in the family business in Bend, OR after five years of active duty with the Marines. “Most of the guys I know are still trying to get back on their feet, and I was really lucky to have this business to come straight into,” says Palmer. “Coming out of the Marine Corps, I felt like I was really making a difference and I still feel like that, helping my clients make one of the biggest decisions of their life. What I do matters.”

WIN is proud to be a part of the movement in which the veteran unemployment rate is declining.
